Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology (SIMIT). Is one of the earliest engineering research institute of Academia Sinica founded in 1928. Since 1949, the Institute has achieved 46 state awards, 338 awards of ministerial, CAS and municipal levels, and has made important contributions to the national security, economic development and social progress with prominent achievements in metallurgy and ceramics, metal corrosion and protection, semiconductor materials and devices, integrated circuits, micro-satellite, information and communication technologies.

Also, as one of the biggest Science Parks in Shanghai SIMIT aimed to increase in 2017 its cooperation and connections with Nordic companies and organizations. Due to recent visit by Chinese president Xi Jinping to Finland, they wanted to get closer with Finland. Simit approached Mingle to suggest a co-operation. After preliminary meetings Mingle identified that regardless of the high ambition level, SIMIT still lacked a grassroot understanding and experience of Sino-Finnish innovation culture and projects. By the SIMIT request we tailored a 2-week market research project on former Sino-Finnish innovation initiatives with its lessons-learnt. A full analysis and frequent meetings helped SIMIT to reach a unique competitive advantage and re-direct their strategy with Finland into a more action-based and effective direction. Mingle introduced a group of Finnish startups which led to concrete deals and new projects. Four months later in November 2017, with the help of the market research and the newly revised strategy, SIMIT managed to successfully close a long-awaited deal with a Finnish governmental research institution VTT.

According to SIMIT the case highlighted the Mingle ability to quickly and effectively give unique and valuable market knowledge and networking support to get projects and plans concretely forward. The program was based on service design methods and tailored cost-effective advice, based on ground-knowledge on both Finnish and Chinese startup, incubation and government culture and environments. This combination led to a successful implementation of that knowledge to address the customers current challenges and goals.
